Worthy to investigate mayor, Beatty

Worthy to investigate mayor, Beatty She promises independent, fair probe into perjury allegations January 25, 2008 FREE PRESS STAFF Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said her office will handle the investigation into possible perjury by Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his chief of staff Christine Beatty. “We will not be rushed by anyone or anything,” Worthy said. Beatty and Kilpatrick testified during a police whistle-blower lawsuit trial that they did not have a romantic relationship but text messages between the two obtained by the Detroit Free Press suggest otherwise.Kilpatrick and Beatty also both testified that they did not fire Gary Brown but text messages obtained indicate that they discussed their decision to fire Brown. The case has settled for $8.4 million and total costs for the case totaled out at more than $9 million. The Kilpatrick-Beatty relationship and the ouster of deputy police chief Brown were central to the whistle-blower suit filed by Brown and Harold Nelthrope, a former mayoral police bodyguard. The two accused Kilpatrick of retaliating against them because of their roles in an internal affairs investigation involving allegations of overtime fraud by members of the mayor's security team -- a probe that could have potentially exposed the affair.

how is it that the mayor of a state is facing so much heat for having an affair with an aide and the president of the usa, bill clinton could do the same thing right in the oval office and is still here walking around and attacking people so that he could have another term right there in the oval office again. I would really like to know what is the difference between these two men, apart from the obvious ones. bill and his wife wrote books and were able to make headlines doing so, sitting in all the talk shows chairs while kilpatrick is beeing asked by every one, even the union, to vacate his position on the basis of mistrust. he is even being charged and plans are being made to imprison him. Isn.t that something? WOW!!!!!

One, Kwame lie cost the city of Detroit 9 million dollars, something the city could use right about now. Now here's another difference in the civil law suit he knew they was going to ask him that question instead of coming out and say yeah we did, so what? He lied and the city is getting jacked for 9 million dollars.

As for Clinton any tax dollars used in his trail came because the Repuglicans wanted pay back for Nixon and so what they did on the backs of the American people.
