Tea party favorite O’Donnell wins in Delaware

By The Associated Press

Tea party favorite O'Donnell wins GOP Senate primary in Delaware over longtime congressman.

Virtually unknown a month ago, Christine O'Donnell has ridden a surge of support from tea party activists to victory in the Delaware Republican Senate primary. It's an upset as stunning as any other in a season of recession and political upheaval. A second insurgent is leading for the GOP nomination in New Hampshire.

O'Donnell defeated Rep. Mike Castle, a fixture in Delaware politics for a generation who campaigned with the strong backing of party officials in the state and in Washington.

Despite her win Tuesday night, O'Donnell will enter the fall campaign as the underdog to Chris Coons, who was unopposed for the Democratic nomination.

M.C.L Comment: I know I said it before so I'm going to say it again, progressives are you that angry with President Obama that you're going to allow freaks like Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle or any other tea party candidate to win?

Alright there isn't a public option in health care so your response is going to be I'm going to sit home and let the nutty Republican to beat my Democratic senator or congress person? Say you do that and the Democrats lose the house and you got a majority of Republicans who are willingly to let Wall Street play with social security, get rid of medicare and hold pointless hearing after pointless hearing into what President Obama sleeps in or who he talks to between the hours of 2 and 5 pm what are you going to say then?

I'm not 100% happy with President Obama but damn I'm not angry that at him that I'm going to sit at home and allow the party that drove the country into the 13th level of hell back into power.
