MDP Releases New Video: “Romney’s Vision for Michigan”

From Michigan Democratic Party:
Video Shows How American Auto Industry Wouldn’t Exist Today Under Romney
LANSING – The Michigan Democratic Party today released a new 30-second video, “Romney’s Vision for Michigan.” The video shows the American auto industry would be nothing more than a memory had Mitt Romney has his way.
Romney wrote an Op-Ed in 2008 titled “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt,” in which he argued against a government rescue of the auto industry. Had the federal government not rescued the auto companies, the industry wouldn’t exist today.
“It’s a good thing President Obama didn’t take Mitt Romney’s advice because that would have led to the end of the American auto industry,” MDP Chair Mark Brewer said. “The auto rescue saved 1.1 million American jobs. If Romney were in charge, those jobs would be gone and Michigan’s unemployment rate would have skyrocketed.”
“Mitt Romney is no son of Michigan,” added Brewer. “Had he loved cars and trees the way he claims to, he would have fought to save the auto companies. Instead, he was content with letting them disappear. We can’t afford Mitt Romney’s vision for Michigan.”
