Trump: Jindal is ‘stupid’ for calling Republicans ‘stupid’

By David Edwards/Raw Story
Billionaire mogul Donald Trump says that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) is the “stupid” one because he should not have publicly called Republicans “the stupid party.”
In his keynote address to Republican National Committee’s winter meeting in North Carolina last month, Jindal had advised Republicans to “stop being the stupid party” and to “talk like adults.”
“I think he was stupid for using that term because that term is so obnoxious and so good for the other side that he should not have used that term,” Trump told Fox News on Monday. “Because that term is going to be living now with the Republican Party for a long time and they’re going to have his face on television saying it for the next four years.”
“I thought that term used by the governor was a disgrace, and he shouldn’t have used it,” he added. “I thought it was very demeaning to the Republican Party… You don’t use the word stupid because the word stupid is now going to be a part of the vocabulary of the Democrats.”
“I thought it was a horrible thing for him to say. Frankly, I thought it was stupid thing for him to say.”
But in a 2011 video posted to YouTube, it was Trump who blasted the “stupidity” of the Republican budget authored by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) because it slashed Medicare.
“When they tamper with Medicare, they have a death wish,” he said. “The Democrats are laughing at the stupidity of the Republicans and this Ryan plan.”
The reality star also announced on Monday that he was suing HBO comedian Bill Maher for $5 million dollars over a “bet” on Jay Leno’s show that Trump couldn’t prove that his mother didn’t have sex with an orangutan.”
“I’ll sue him at about 12 o’clock today,” Trump promised. “For $5 million, all going to charity. He said, if you do this, he made me an offer, I accepted the offer immediately and he didn’t come through with the $5 million.”
Fox News host Steve Doocy pointed out that Maher would argue the bet was a joke.
“Well, they may,” Trump agreed. “But let’s see what happens. I don’t think he was joking. He said it with venom. That was venom, that wasn’t a joke. In fact, he was nervous when he said it. It was a pathetic delivery.”
