NEW YORK (May 24) -- Watching Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck(R-cute liar) squabble on ABC's "The View" is nothing new, but Wednesday's dustup seemed particularly nasty with the co-hosts trading accusations and personal digs. A political discussion over the war in Iraq became heated when an angry O'Donnell decried Hasselbeck for not standing up for her when media outlets suggested that she'd called U.S. troops "terrorists" during a previous debate."What you did was not defend me. ... I asked you if you believed what the Republican pundits were saying - you said nothing, and that's cowardly," O'Donnell said.Responded a stern Hasselbeck: "Do not call me a coward, because No. 1, I sit here every single day, open my heart and tell people what I believe."O'Donnell and Hasselbeck were shown on a split screen as the argument progressed without commercial interruption."Do you believe that I think our troops are terrorists? And you would not even look me in the face, Elisabeth, and say, `No, Rosie,"' O'Donnell said.Responded Hasselbeck: "Because you are an adult, and I am certainly not going to be the person for you to explain your thoughts. They're your thoughts! Defend your own insinuations!"O'Donnell, who is leaving the ABC daytime talk show next month, said she wasn't going to fight anymore. I managed to catch this flare up the other day for myself, Hasselbeck display your typical female right wing defense mode change the subject of how much a failure George W. Bush is and whine that you're getting attack personally. It's getting hard out there for the 28%ers to defend George Bush so they lash out when you press them on why their defense for a man who has done nothing to better America is so strong. These people wanted Bill Clinton head when they caught him lying about oral sex and they would gotten away with it too if many of them wasn't worried about their dirty laundry aired out but with Bush he ignored warnings about 9.11 they go that's ok, let oil companies rob the treasury no biggie, lied this country into war which has lead to the deaths of over 3000 troops they go well Clinton said the same thing about Saddam and weapons. I remember MTV show a clip of the other co host Joy asking Hasslebeck why does she still defends this man, Lizzy Hasslebeck knows deep down the only reason she's sill defending the boob in the White House is because George W. Bush has an R after his name and since she's a good little right wing Republican cheerleader that's all she needs.

No intelligent person could ever believe the 650,000 deaths that Rosie claims in Iraq. It's a complete nonsense number.This is as many deaths as we had in the Civil War.There would be piles of bodies every night on the liberal news. Where are they? They don't exist except in lies told by liberals.By the way we did find WMD's, tons of them. They didn't count though I guess.
I am a life long Democrat who comes from three generations of Democrats, and I got to say that I think Rosie is absolutely nuts. She says things that are not accurate and believes pscho nonsense theories and all kinds of crazy things, and then she gets upset when EH does not defend her? I am embarassed that she is a Democrat. She does not represent me, or any other sane Democrat, she only represents the mentally unstable democrats. Please Rosie, just keep a lid on your psycho ramblings will you? You make us all look bad.
I sincerely think Rosie's thinking is impaired, and I for one will be SO glad to see her leave the show and hope someone with dignity and intelligience replaces her. Maybe she should take her fat behind and go live in Canada..who really gives a rat's ass what she thinks!
P.S Look on NPR site and hit Iraq death tolls. You will see I think 4 different polls of the amount of dead Iraqis..I guess Rosie liked the one from Johns Hopkins. Bottom line..No One really knows..but it is interesting that the lowest number of dead is reported by the current administration! hmmmm?

Why does Rosie continue to say things that she needs her View colleagues to defend her on. If you believe what you're saying stop looking for others to validate or defend you...stand on your own!
If Elizabeth was smart she would just blow Rosie off about anything. Rosie has a barking mouth and everyone is tried or her. Thank goodness she is leaving and it isn't fast enough for me.

Rosie O'Donnell believes that because she speaks she carries the banner of truth. She is hateful and mean spirited. I stopped watching the View when she came on the show and won't watch it again until she leaves. Barbara Walters' credibility has taken a real hit over this. What a shame.
I was a Rosie O'Donnell fan before her stint on "The View". Sad to say, after her antics on this show, I am no longer a fan. She spews as much muck as a backed-up toilet and with just about as much validation and justification. She now comes across as falsely superior and obnoxious as her nemesis, Donald Trump.

Listening to Rosie's rant is like listening to someone afflicted with senility. Why should other people come to her rescue when she makes irresponsible statements? Last night I had a crazy dream. We were invited to a Memorial Day Pig Roast Party and when we arrived, there was Rosie, baked to pork fat perfection with a big red apple in her mouth. I had the swordfish instead.
Elizabeth is the blond bimbo who showed her boobs on Survivor. Yea she's a good little Christian girl.

I don't care about Rosie's sexual preference, her weight, or her looks. However, I can not understand how anyone can defend such a mean spirited person. She constantly bashes and belittles people on the show. The "View will be much better off without her and her hate filled reteric. As for the 650,000 dead, I tend to believe the much lower number published by the U.N.. Let's face it, the U.N. is not exactly pro U.S.A. and they even said that the number of dead in Iraq was far less than that.
As for Rosie asking why the other girl didn't defend her, why should she have to. Rosie is so willing to go out there and demean and bad mouth people, then she expects the other ladies to take up for her. That's a joke. Rosie should stand-up for herself. Again, Rosie was way out-of-line.

Watching The View is like mental junk food. Who flippin' cares what those women think? Opinions are like rectums, everybody has one but nobody wants to be made aware of anyone elses. When Roachie finally leaves maybe some civility will return to that show. I guess she just can't keep the flap on her windbag shut. First a word about the war. As in the past many wars have taken place over time and in the future many more will follow it is human nature that people create. We are a country of freedom which many people living in other country do not get to enjoy. We also comment about our elected officials we can never forgot our past wars and how many men and women lost thier lives protecting us. Now we have polictians and people like Rosie calling our president dumb. Now remember what George Bush told the american people that he did not start this war he inherited it from our past president Clinton who did take a back seat to what happened in his 8 year term. Now we have terrorist who live and earn a living in this country and also being educated by our schools and colleges we are the laughing stock of the middle east. I have been personally told by a middle eastern person that americans are stupid. This is what we get when we allow illegals to come to our wonderful country just to insult us. Now we have a american like Rosie suggesting maybe we are the terrorist. What we need to do is sew up Rosie mouth rid our goverment of negative people collect all the illegals ship them back to where they came from and try to put our country back to the american standard way of living we are a greedy country thats not the way I grew up in the 1950's we did not have what we have today but it was a wonderful life back then for me. and today it is all greed cars, money and etc. I live a plain simple life just trying to get by and pay my bills and I expect nothing more because all our polictians live a life of luxury and mean while people are starving in our country with no health care no jobs and no money. So until our next president and people we put in power to make up our goverment think hard and becareful who you vote for or just don't vote and take your chances on who is going to sell us down the river for the next war. I must add that I am thinking about moving to a Island in the carribean notice that no one ever bothers these people.
Rosie is a loud mouth who tries to push her views on everyone as if they are the only view to have. For someone who preaches tolerance about her own sexual preference, she ought to have a little tolerance of other people's views.
Seems that it is time for the The View to go away if this TV program does not honor its name by allowing different views. If everyone has to play along the views of Ms. Walter’s, then it is not worth it! The fun is with the different views so people could get open-minded and not brain wash, and specially on political views…For the first time I agree with Donald, Elizabeth should shut up her dumb mouth as she sound even more pathetic than Rosie. Why then isn’t she being judge the same in this matter? Something doesn’t sound fair…I do think it is pretty unfair to judge someone for having a different opinion of those who are very conservative. Rosie has just said what many people are afraid to say on TV.
The reality is that in this country and since Mr. Bush had changed our constitution (with the Patriotic act) people no longer can speak out laud without paying a price or being spy on. People need to wake up as so we need more people like Rosie. If it is not allowed then we could question America’s democracy…We are getting confused, are we following after Venezuela or what…? Some of us are getting really concern on how United States politics are even changing even TV shows …
On the other hand Rosie is just giving rates to a TV program that has been dead for sometime...Their views are always to the conservative side as it is Ms. Walters. It is pretty bored by the way... I don't know why they brought Rosie to this program, they knew she doesn't belong there but of course could bring the rates up…
Rosie should have her own TV show where people could truly speak themselves without fear. Media and Television seems so repressed these days that it is a shame! Why is that, isn't “America the land of the free, the land of the brave”??? The reality is that Americans are being repressed in many ways, and its people are playing fools or dumb if they do not stand up for their rights and mostly for what it is true…Time to wake up America!

You know what I find amazing... look at the make up of the show. The women with the 'rebelious' spirit, the women who are heated and upset over our government are the Rosie and Joy... Elisabeth does nothing but defend and defend... and she's the youngest one! The one of youth! Wow, what a day and age we live in when it's the older women who are fed up with government and the younger ones are complacent.
I think, to me, it's obvious that Rosie's point has been our people are in their territory, how would that make you feel? Elisabeth and many others (I won't label Republicans or pro war, just others) just seem to think if you're American you represent all that's good in life, and god, and sort of this sacrine look at the world... but there is an underline racism and prejudice there that other areas of the world are beneath that. Rosie just wanted Elisabeth to defend her as a friend. She wouldn't do it. It is passive aggressive. I prefer Rosie's "in your face" rather than passivity or behind one's back.
I think Rosie and Joy are awesome for dedicating so much energy to talking about the War. Death seems to affect them, as it should all of us.
It is sad that people have to be so cruel and derrogatory. I learned a long time ago that if you can not say something good do not say anything at all. Maybe those who host different talk shows should learn that. It seems to me that both the woman in this discussion were not ladies.
Rosie deserves to me commended for the simple fact that in this day and age she states her opinion and sticks to it. She will not be swayed by "popular" opinion. She speaks the truth and most ppl are to scared to open there eyes and admit that George Bush has made us the laughing stock of the United Nations, and the last time I checked freedom of speech was important to americans, am i now correct in assuming that it is only important as long as you are saying what other ppl want to hear???
If you listened to the exchanged Rosie said "Elisabeth, you didn't even back me up when the media said that I said our soldiers were terrorists" Rosie NEVER said the soldiers were terrorists. That's Fox News, Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough twisting the words, not Rosie !! This administration are the terrorists. Thank god we had someone like Rosie on to give honesty for the situation we are involved in in Iraq. Some of you naysayers probably were for the Iraq war from the begining. I hate that this happened because I loved seeing women during a political exchange. I understand why Rosie was upset with Elisabeth, it was a betrayal of a friendship. Elisabeth is VERY YOUNG! She hasn't seen many Presidents. Bush is the worse President in my lifetime. I totally believe that 650,000 Iraqi's have died in Iraq. You think this administration is going to tell us the truth? Absolutely not.
I for one will never watch The View again. I think Elisabeth will be the downfall for The View. Elisabeth is an Ann Coulter in training. If I wanted to see the right wing crap I'd watch Fox, which is never going to happen.
I am the wife of a former military pilot and I say these men and women died for no reason, as they did in Viet Nam. Tell me what these men and women died for - democracy, I think not. Because they were defending our country from Iraq, I think not. They died because we had an inept administration that rushed to a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. Liars in the White House. Oh, by the way, my husband is a Viet Nam vet with a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, etc. And a retired military officer. We are both not COWARDS !!

Why are so many of the commenters on this blog so obsessed over Rosie’s body? Her crime is that she has allowed her politics and beliefs to affect her professionalism and delivery on The View. And Elisabeth’s naiveté, lack of professionalism and rudeness, (not to mention that whiny, irritating voice she has), set Rosie off. Rosie has been in show biz for decades; she should know better than to let someone provoke her into behaving so badly. And furthermore, fellow readers, when she asked why Elisabeth didn’t defend her, it was a challenge to Elisabeth’s character, not a request for validation or approval.
I agree with the writer who wrote: “Wow, what a day and age we live in when it's the older women who are fed up with government and the younger ones are complacent.” As a teenage girl and young adult during the Vietnam War, I too was a trusting flag waver like Elisabeth. When my brother came home from the war, crippled and handicapped for life, I finally began questioning our politicians’ actions. Never once did I believe that the soldiers, Marines, airmen or seamen started or were to be blamed for the war. Now, while we are so intent on making sure no military personnel are treated like our Vietnam vets were, we’re once again giving the politicians a carte blanche go-ahead to send our young people to hospitals, nursing homes, and their graves. We need to nominate someone to lead the Democrats, in unity of purpose, and to do the right thing—or the left thing—as the case may be.
Unfortunately, Rosie’s blunt and angry responses to Elisabeth on national TV just give the conservative press grist for the right wing mill. Can’t people see how divisive all this squabbling amongst ourselves only makes the Democrats more vulnerable in 2008? Come on people. It’s not about Rosie’s body; it’s about limiting the power of the dumbest, worst president we’ve ever had. It’s about voting out the hawks and electing leaders who will not ignore the advice of the experts, who will restore our former good standing on the rest of the planet, and who will care about the planet. Good for anyone who has the guts to speak out against the current administration, regardless of their gender, age, or body weight.
For the sake of The View, both Rosie and Elisabeth should be replaced—quickly.

This country is indicative of what happened between Elisabeth and Rosie. We are more a country at odds with each other. Republicans seem to be irrational and sprew their venom faster than Democrats, maybe it's because Democrats have more compassion than they do. What a sorry mess Bush is leaving this country in. I just wish he and Cheney would be impeached.
i have had many family members from different generations go to war, my grandfather, father, uncles, brothr and my husband, now i worry my grandson may have to go,how can elisabeth defend this president? well after she has this baby why doesn't she join one of the branches, there are many mothers out there defending us.i agree with trump, she is real dum, when ever she opens her mouth, she's a spoiled. miss know it all!!!
