Fox News has suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum for 60 days effective immediately, citing their apparent intentions to launch presidential campaigns
Fox News anchor Bret Baier made the announcement Wednesday that the former House Speaker and Pennsylvania senator will be "suspended" as they have "signaled possible runs" for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
"The suspension is effective for 60 days, then on May 1 their contracts will be terminated unless they notify Fox that they are not running for president," Baier said, adding that Fox expected that they might need to terminate the men's contracts
Former Republican Govs. Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin are also paid Fox contributors and leading 2012 presidential hopefuls, but haven't yet declared their intentions to run.
