Ann Romney Melts Down and Tells the GOP They are Lucky To Have Mitt

In a full blown meltdown, Ann Romney lashed out the Republican Party and told them that they were lucky to have her husband as their nominee.

In an interview with Radio Iowa, Ann Romney took a blowtorch and burned all the Romney bridges with GOP.

Mrs. Romney explained how “hard” campaigning was for her, “If you love someone, you see them maligned, attacked, all these things that happen in a campaign, you get very defensive.”

In other words, stop maligning Mitt Romney with his own words! Also, Mitt may call you victims, but you may not repeat what Mitt said. Got it?

Speaking of 2008, Ann spoke of how she “suffered” so very, very much and never wanted to do it again. She even made a video about how much she didn’t want to do it. And yet, she is not letting this affect her. And they are “going forward” with his campaign.

Ann Romney then launched into an attack on the Republican Party, “Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard and, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”

This is now total inter party warfare between the GOP and the Romneys. Ann Romney provided proof that the pressure has gotten to the Romney campaign, and they are cracking up. Let’s look at the lay of the land. Mitt Romney followed up his Libya debacle by calling half of America victims. Ann Romney then decided to tell her own party that it really hard to run for president.

What Ann Romney doesn’t seem to get is the Republicans that she derisively labeled as the “chattering class” are Republicans who have participated in winning presidential campaigns. People like Peggy Noonan and Mark McKinnon know what they are talking about, so when they tell Mitt and Ann Romney they are blowing it, it would be wise to listen up.

That’s the thing that this campaign has revealed about the Romneys. They aren’t wise. They are ambitious, reckless, narrow minded, out of touch, selfish, entitled, arrogant, uncaring, and a million other adjectives, but their biggest problem is that they aren’t smart.

Ann and Mitt Romney are living proof that money can’t buy intelligence. To the Romneys, the Republican Party is nothing but the help. Republicans need to keep their mouths shut and elect Mitt so that he can run the country.

Notice, Ann Romney didn’t say that her husband would serve the country. You people serve the Romneys. The Romney don’t serve anyone.

The Republican Party is lucky to have a nominee whose campaign is so incompetent that it may cost them a chance to retake the Senate, and their House majority.

It’s not like any other Republican could have stepped up to the plate and served as President Obama’s weak kneed punching bag for the last four months.

The Romney campaign is melting down before our very eyes, and Ann Romney’s channeling of Leona Helmsley is the cherry on top.

Ann Romney Refuses To Answer Questions About Birth Control

In an interview with KWQC-TV6 today, Ann Romney refused to comment on the issues stemming from the ongoing War on Women, declining to address whether she believes women should have access to contraception through their employer-based insurance plans. Such questions are irrelevant, Romney said, because this election is not going to be about birth control:

KWQC TV6: Do you believe that employer-provided health insurance should be required to cover birth control?

ANN ROMNEY: Again, you’re asking me questions that are not about what this election is going to be about. This election is going to be about the economy and jobs.

KWQC TV6: Well, a Pew research poll shows those issues are very important to women, ranking them either “important” or “very important. [...]

ANN ROMNEY: Listen, I’ve been across this country, I’ve been for a year-and-a-half on the campaign trail. I’ve spoken with thousands of women and they are telling me, they’re telling me a couple of things, one they say they’re praying for me which is really wonderful, and then they’re saying, ‘please help, please help. We are so worried about our jobs.’ So really if you want to try to pull me off of the other messages it’s not going to work because I know because I’ve been out there. [...]

I’m going to talk to you about the economy and about job creation and about how my husband is the right person for the right time. This is going to be an election that is very important for women, and we are going to make sure that their economic prosperity is more certain under a President Romney.

Despite Romney’s attempt to pivot to the economy, her claim that birth control is “off message” ignores the real economic situation of women across America. In fact, women’s access to reproductive health services is inextricably linked to the economic issues that countless women face. For example, the Obamacare provision that requires employer-based coverage for contraception — which Ann Romney sidestepped after the interviewer brought it up twice — attempts to address the fact that one in three American women report having struggled to afford birth control at some point in their lives. And when women risk pregnancy without reliable access to contraception, they strain their own finances with the expensive addition of a dependent, as well as incur millions in taxpayer costs for medical care.

Fox News Contributor Says Female Press Jealous They Couldn’t Bag A Rich Guy Like Ann Romney Did (VIDEO)

Liz Trotta is a Fox News ‘contributor.’ Of course, in Fox-ese that means ‘right wing apologist and talking point supplier.’ Yesterday she went on air to discuss why Ann Romney is perceived as out-of-touch; you might think it’s because of things Ann Romney has said, but that’s because you are naive. The real reason is jealousy.

Yes jealousy. The female members of the press are all engaging in class envy, because unlike Ann Romney, they failed to reel in the rich husband, that every gal dreams of:

“Recently the lefty WAGs [wives and girlfriends] went on about Romney’s $1,000 blouse, a scandal. But the $7,000 jacketMichelle Obama wore to Buckingham Palace drew only approving nods from her fans in the left-wing media.”

Ann wore the blouse to do a television show, Michelle Obama wore the jacket as a representative of the United States meeting the Queen of England…Oh and the same people (Fox) that pointed out how much the jacket cost, criticized Obama for not dressing well enough to meet the Queen the first time. Of course.

But Liz Trotta had more to say:

“Don’t try to make any sense of this hypocrisy. For with their inborn sense of class warfare — as well as their funny clothes — the ladies of the press really believe they are acting on principle, except that the principle is driven by envy, envy of a woman who managed to do exactly what their mothers told them, although they would never admit it: marry a good, preferably rich man; raise your children full time and dress like a lady.”

This is actually a pretty standard piece of psy-ops for Fox News; the words are crafted to dismiss the discussion of Ann Romney’s charmless elitism, by making any notice of it the real problem. And you loyal viewers, you wouldn’t want to be like those tacky, desperate old maids in the press corp, would you?

In one fell swoop, she manages to turn a group of women who chose a career in journalism, into a cluster of Jan Bradys, bitter because their prettier sister (“Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!”) got asked to the prom, and they didn’t.

Then add in the kicker: Class warfare. Fox hammers away at it, because the man they’re trying to sell is wealthier than the last eight presidents combined. And that include 2 Bushes. When they talk about class envy, it’s always a smokescreen; we could all use more money. And I’ll wager that thereare plenty of people who, if given the unlimited resources Ann Romney has been given, would be every bit as superficial and self-indulgent as she is; But I doubt any of them are in the press pool, following presidential candidates and their wives around. People who take jobs like that, usually are aware of how politics shapes our world, and you don’t take a job analyzing politics, if your secret ambition is to play dress-up with a horsie.

But here’s a thought: If what Trotta disdainfully refers to “inborn sense of class warfare,” is real, isn’t that really just a survival instinct? We also possess “inborn” reactions to loud noises, extreme heat, unpleasant smells…The human body has myriad “inborn” reactions to outside stimuli, both bad and good. Maybe there’s something to that. And I’m glad we have the women (and men) of the press who have the temerity to point out the danger to the rest of us.
Of course with the right in general, and Fox in particular, there’s always a significant amount of projection involved. It is easy to dismiss actual journalists as jealous agenda-driven class warriors, when your job is to cloud the water’s of journalism with your class conscious agenda.

Ann Romney: ‘I Love The Fact That There Are Women Out There Who Don’t Have A Choice’ And ‘Must Go To Work’

In an emotional speech about the difficulty of motherhood and life on the campaign trail, Ann Romney used an odd choice of words to discuss mothers who are forced to work while raising their children.

Ann Romney was at the center of a national discussion recently after a Democratic consultant charged that the would-be future first lady couldn’t possibly understand the plight of working mothers because she had the luxury to stay home and devote herself full time to raising her kids. The Romney campaign fired back, accusing Democrats of lacking respect for stay at home moms.

The issue was largely dismissed after a few days as a ginned-up “silly season” controversy, but Ann Romney’s comments last night at the Connecticut Republican Party’s Prescott Bush Awards Dinner could potentially reignite the issue. After discussing how she understands the challenges mothers face, Romney said, according to BuzzFeed:

Romney alluded to the fact that not all women can stay at home saying, “I love the fact that there are women out there who don’t have a choice and they must go to work and they still have to raise the kids. Thank goodness that we value those people too. And sometimes life isn’t easy for any of us.”

It seems Romney was trying to express empathy for women who don’t have the option to stay at home, as she did. But the comment that she “love[s]” that some women “don’t have a choice” and must work is unusual, to say the least, and could lead to a new round of charges that the Romneys don’t understand average Americans, given their enormous wealth.

Nearly two-thirds of women are the breadwinner or co-bread winner in their households. Nonetheless, the gender pay gap remains. And while Mitt Romney has broken with most Republicans to support the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, he has still not yet taken a position on the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Ann Romney: ‘I Don’t Even Consider Myself Wealthy’

Apparently “Romneying” — defined as “accidentally bragging about your place high up in the economic stratosphere” — runs in the family.

His wife, Ann Romney, inexplicably talked about her wealth this afternoon during an interview on Fox News. “We can be poor in spirit, and I don’t even consider myself wealthy, which is an interesting thing, it can be here today and gone tomorrow,” she said. Watch it:

The couple made $20.9 million last year, making more in a day than an average American makes in a year, and are worth about $250 million overall.

From discussing his NASCAR team-owning friends, to saying he likes firing people, to bragging about Ann’s two Cadillacs, Mitt also has a problem with accidentally and inappropriately touting his enourmous wealth.
