Donald Trump did not oppose the Iraq war from the beginning.
Trump was asked directly by Howard Stern in 2002 if he supported invading Iraq.
“Yeah, I guess so,” Trump answered.

So what do you do when Trump ignores documented facts and claims he opposed the war anyway?
Last night, Matt Lauer just ignored the lie and moved on to another topic.
But when Trump repeated the claim today in a speech in Cleveland, CNN had a different approach:

If the purpose of journalism is to inform the public, two of these chyrons served a journalistic purpose. One did not.
